Burst Scores Contract for 3D Virtual Studio at City Hall in Dallas

July 27, 2009 - Denver, CO – Burst announced today that it was awarded a contract to design, build, equip and install broadcast equipment for a 3D virtual studio at City Hall in Dallas, Texas. The contract also calls for upgrading the existing automation systems at the Public, Education and Government Access (PEG) locations, and upgrading the automation systems used to edit, produce and deliver cable access programming to cable TV head ends and 600,000 households in Dallas.
This is the fourth and final phase of a project designed to equip and support PEG users in the Dallas area. This project began in 2002.
Burst has been involved with the PEG project since its inception and completed the first three phases of the project, which included installing fiber optic technology to deliver PEG signals to cable company and installed digital automatic playback systems. Phase II replaced production equipment with digital video servers, digital cameras, edit bays, and control centers, including upgrades to City Council Chambers and Council Briefing Room. And Phase III of the project included upgrading cable plant in Dallas City Hall, purchased additional digital production, storage, and archiving system for all PEG users.
