Burst Welcomes John Switzer as VP of Systems Sales

June 4, 2009 - Denver, CO – Burst is pleased to announce that John Switzer has joined the integration team as VP of Systems Sales. With more than 30 years of broadcast industry experience, Switzer offers a unique skill set that advances Burst’s mission to provide intelligent, customer-focused system solutions.
Before joining Burst, Switzer was with Sony’s Broadcast and Business Solutions Company for 20 years. As a Senior Account Manager, he provided broad product knowledge and integration expertise to end customers and resellers in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, and West Texas.
While at Sony, Switzer worked on a number of the high profile systems projects in Colorado that were built in the Denver area starting in the mid 1990s. He worked on TCI’s National Digital Television Center (now the Comcast Media Center) to build multiple studios and program origination control rooms. He also was the account manager for Sony’s System Integration Division’s work on production and origination facilities for both Starz Entertainment Group and Technicolor Network Services (previously Crown and Hallmark). These projects represented an excess of $20M in Sony revenue. Switzer brings a strong technical background and systems approach and solid relationships with key industry professionals to Burst.

Switzer is the current secretary treasurer of the Rocky Mountain Section of SMPTE. He is a graduate of the University of Denver where he studied television and technical theatre. He and his wife, Valerie, live in Centennial, CO.
At Burst, Switzer will work with the broadcast integration team to develop national engineering and integration projects, targeting broadcast TV, sports and educational facilities.
