Burst Welcomes Don Rooney as VP Engineering

May 28, 2008 – Denver, CO – Burst announced today that Don Rooney has joined the team as VP Engineering. With more than 30 years of television engineering, production, and IT experience, including an extensive amount of hands-on and managerial experience, Rooney is a tremendous asset to Burst.
Previously, Rooney was Director of Operations and Engineering for Tribune Broadcasting’s KWGN-TV in Denver, where he oversaw technical operations including transmission, broadcast operations, studio production and computer systems. While at KWGN he rebuilt the technical facility, implemented server-based broadcast automation, launched DTV service and automated the production and airing of news graphics.
Prior to that, Rooney was Director of Operations and Engineering at WGNO-TV, New Orleans, where he was project manager for a multi-million dollar, award-winning news start-up and transition from a WB affiliate to ABC. Rooney also served as Production Manager and Executive Producer of all live sports productions at WGNO.
