Burst Wins Contract for Design/Build at Comcast's Digital-Pay-Per-View Room
07/12/04 |
June 9, 2004- DENVER – Working as systems integrator for Comcast Media Center’s high-definition (HD) project, InDemand, Burst designed and built the first two HD movie channels for Comcast’s Digital-Pay-Per-View room where InDemand’s current Standard Definition (SD) movie play-out center is located.
The design was an extension to the current room, where over 38 channels were already operating. The new system utilizes Dolby 5.1 audio processing, Pinnacle Media Stream Servers, Evertz conversion equipment, Teranex upconverters, Sony HDCAM video tape machines and video monitoring, and Wohler audio monitoring.
According to Scott Barella, Vice President of Engineering, “the project was completed under a very aggressive timeline. We were pleased to meet Comcast’s expectations while providing them with a very thorough and complete design.”
